My Fall Bucket List for 2022

I have to admit; fall is one of my favorite times of the year. As a Carolina girl, I look forward to a break from the South Carolina humidity, which is replaced by a beautiful crispness that fills the air. I created a fall bucket of all my favorite activities I cannot wait to do with my family and wanted to share them with you just in case you were struggling to find ideas for fun fall-themed outings!

The State Fair

South Carolina has an incredible state fair full of music, delicious foods, and exciting rides. There are also a ton of shows and exhibits featuring local artists, performers, and more. You'll definitely want to check out your area to see when your fair is in town; it's a can't-miss, family-friendly outing even the littlest of kiddos can enjoy!

Psst…keep an eye out on my Instagram, I have something very special for you.

Pumpkin Patch + Pumpkin Carving

Visiting a pumpkin patch is a tradition many families share, including mine, and it's one of my favorite fall activities. I love picking out our favorite pumpkin and then (attempting) to make a cute carving out of it. Even the youngest members of the family can enjoy choosing their favorite pumpkins, making the pumpkin patch an ideal activity for kids of all ages!

Campfire Smores

If I had to use one word to define campfire smores, I would say "perfection!" From the smokiness of the marshmallow to the gooey chocolate and crispy graham cracker crunch, they make the ideal fall dessert. I love sitting around the campfire, singing songs, telling stories, and making memories, all while snuggled up in a comfy blanket; it's truly the perfect way to spend an evening together as a family.

Last year, I enjoyed making a smores board with the kids!

Apple Picking

Apple picking is a quintessential fall-time activity, and for a good reason! Not only is it fun and educational to take your little ones to the orchard where they can see how apples grow, but the sweetness and crunch from the freshly picked fruit are beyond compare. Plus, you'll be able to get some adorable pictures with one of the most beautiful natural backgrounds.

Family Photoshoot

Speaking of beautiful pictures, fall is my favorite time for our family photoshoot, as the changing leaves provide a stunning backdrop. It's so much fun seeing how much my family has grown over the last year, and I cherish the memories tied to each beautiful picture.

Friday Night Lights

It's no secret that my family loves sports, and there's nothing quite like the feeling of Friday night lights. Attending our local high school's football game has always been one of my favorite activities, thanks to the electricity in the air as we cheer on our home team. It also provides the perfect time to catch up with friends and deepen bonds with the community.

If you're looking for fun, family-friendly fall activity ideas, why not try one from my bucket list? I'd love to hear about the fun you and your family had, creating memories that will last a lifetime!

Monster Jam 2022 - Columbia, SC

Special thanks to the Columbia SC Mommy Blogger Tribe and Monster Jam for hosting us.

Monster Jam is here in Columbia, SC and you still have time to see a show! If you’re looking for a last-minute family-friendly outing this is perfect to add to your to-do list. The last show is tomorrow, April 3, 2022, and you can purchase tickets here; the show is being held at the Colonial Life Arena.

This was my first Monster Jam show and I really had no idea what to expect. My son loves all types of trucks and I knew this would be right up his alley. When he saw all of the monster trucks driving around the arena he was amazed and that made it worth it. We brought the entire family and they all enjoyed it. Seeing the cool designs on the trucks and getting to watch the drivers do their thing was fascinating.

This brought back memories for my husband, he hasn’t seen a show live in the last 10 years and it was even better than he remembered. Monster Jam has been around for 30+ years – it’s a completion of large “monster” trucks showing off their skills on the dirt. Monster Jam turns the event into your hands by allowing you to vote for your favorites based on performance.

Tips for visiting a Monster Jam Show

Monster Jam travels all over the United States, keep an eye out if they are coming to a city near you. See the schedule here.

1.      Wear something comfortable you may have to do a lot of walking.

2.      Bring ear muffs or noise-canceling headphones – it can get pretty loud. There are some available for purchase at the event.

3.      Bring a mobile device – you can vote for the drivers.

Our favorite drivers of the night were Kayla Blood (Solider Fortune), Bari Musawwir (Zombie), and Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger). We are already looking forward to the next show!  Check out a quick video clip from the show.
